Cottonwood Fire Rages to About 92,000 Acres, Nation’s Largest Wildfire in Southern Utah
Utah’s Cottonwood Fire has grown to roughly 92,000 acres in Fishlake National Forest with 0% containment as strong winds push flames through Beaver and Piute Counties; the human-caused blaze prompted closures (including parts of Fishlake NF and State Highway 153), forced evacuations readiness for nearby towns, damaged Eagle Point Resort and other properties, and a community meeting was planned in Beaver as firefighters race to gain control.
