Bronx MTA flagger killed as D train strikes near Yankee Stadium, prompting retraining
An MTA flagger with under a year on the job, Moet McCullum, 41, was fatally struck by a southbound D train near the 161st Street-Yankee Stadium station after 11:30 p.m.; an internal report says she froze despite warnings, and the operator hadn’t seen warning lights. In response, the MTA pulled flaggers off tracks for 24 hours of retraining. The incident is the second fatal flagger case since 2023, and the NTSB has launched an investigation.
