WestJet cabin crew strike ends as tentative wage deal reached
Canada’s WestJet and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, which represents 4,400 flight attendants, reached a tentative wage agreement to end a strike that had led to hundreds of flight cancellations; the deal will be put to a ratification vote and aims to pay for all hours worked and modernize the flight‑credit system, after WestJet previously offered multi‑year wage increases and additional pay for hours worked. The disruption affected tens of thousands of travelers during a holiday weekend.
