
Assam Flood Toll Hits 100 as About 140,000 Affected Across Seven Districts
The Assam flood crisis worsened as the death toll rose to 100 for the year and more than 137,500 people were affected across seven districts, led by Golaghat (~70,000) and Sivasagar (~40,000). Two deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in Golaghat and Karbi Anglong. About 456 villages are submerged; 11,933 hectares of cropland damaged; embankments and roads damaged. There are 125 relief camps with around 49,061 people sheltered. Relief supplies such as rice, dal, salt and mustard oil have been distributed, and the floods have affected tens of thousands of livestock (43,331).
