LG Display's FLiPP: A FMM-Less OLED Breakthrough for Brighter, Longer-Lasting Displays
LG Display unveiled FLiPP, a FMM-free OLED patterning method that increases the RGB aperture ratio, boosting brightness by about 1.6x, extending panel life by 2.4x, and cutting power consumption by roughly 13%, enabling mass production on 8.5-generation glass. The approach uses photolithography to pattern RGB pixels and promises applicability across sizes from wearables to large TVs, with a world debut at IMID 2026 in Busan.
