Health officials say a cyclosporiasis outbreak has sickened hundreds nationwide, with nearly 400 cases in New York since May. Most infections have been reported in New York City, while Michigan and Ohio have the highest totals overall. The New York State Department of Health, in coordination with the CDC and FDA, is trying to identify exposure sources and asks confirmed cases to list foods purchased. Most people recover on their own, but dehydration or prolonged symptoms require medical care; no Rochester-area cases have been confirmed yet.
