FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Charged with Foreign Bribery in China

Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX, has been charged with foreign bribery by federal prosecutors. Bankman-Fried allegedly instructed employees to pay $40 million in cryptocurrency to Chinese officials to unfreeze accounts held by FTX's sister company, Alameda Research. This charge adds to the 13 criminal counts already pending against Bankman-Fried, including securities fraud and money laundering. Three former executives have already pleaded guilty and are cooperating with authorities.
