
IT Contractor Arrested for Espionage, Allegedly Sent Classified Information to Ethiopia
The Justice Department has arrested and charged an IT contractor, Abraham Teklu Lemma, with two counts of espionage for allegedly stealing classified information from the State Department and transmitting it to a foreign country. Lemma, who had top-secret clearance, copied and pasted information from intelligence reports without authorization and sent it through an encrypted messaging app. He allegedly received payment of over $100,000 for the information. Lemma is currently employed as a contract management analyst at the Justice Department.
