Ice Age Woolly Rhino Genome Uncovered in Ancient Hyena Droppings
Paleontologists have successfully reconstructed the DNA of an ice-age woolly rhino by analyzing DNA extracted from the fossilized droppings of a cave hyena. The analysis revealed that the now-extinct woolly rhino split into two populations approximately 500,000 years ago.
