RNC Defies Trump, Schedules Fourth Debate
The Republican National Committee has announced the date for the fourth primary debate, despite objections from front-runner Donald J. Trump. The debate will take place in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on December 6th. The criteria to qualify for the debate have been increased, requiring candidates to have a minimum of 80,000 unique donors and reach 6 percent in two national polls or one national poll and one poll in one of the four early states. Trump and his campaign have called for the cancellation of all remaining debates, citing his lead in the polls. The debate field has been shrinking, with former Vice President Mike Pence and Governor Doug Burgum at risk of missing the next debate.
