Tesla's Chief Designer, Franz von Holzhausen, defended the angular design of the Cybertruck, stating that it helps boost the Tesla brand and generates conversation. Despite its delayed launch and higher price, the Cybertruck is drawing interest from non-truck owners, with potential buyers queuing up at Tesla showrooms. Von Holzhausen believes that the unique design does not hinder its potential as a high-volume vehicle and that it measures up to traditional rivals in terms of performance. The stainless-steel clad truck takes inspiration from the Lamborghini Countach and Lockheed's F-117 Stealth Fighter jet. Despite some glitches during its launch, von Holzhausen stands by the Cybertruck, stating that his kids love being picked up in it and that he has been mistaken for Elon Musk while driving it.
