Oxygen-Tank Blast After I-81 Crash Killing Two in Frederick County
Two people died after a tractor-trailer hit a merging vehicle on I-81 in Frederick County, Va., causing a fire and an oxygen-tank explosion. The tractor-trailer driver died at the scene and the oxygen-tanks truck driver died later at a hospital; charges are pending as investigators probe the crash near Exit 310. Northbound I-81 remained partially closed with traffic impacts and emergency paving planned; the passenger car driver was not injured.
