Disneyland's Free-Roaming Dancing Groot Robot Passes Play-Test
Disney Imagineers have developed a free-roaming robotic actor prototype that can take on the role of similarly-sized Disney characters, such as Baby Groot, to interact with human performers and audiences at theme parks. The robot has over 50 degrees of freedom in a compact platform that can walk, gesture, and emote in style, and can be brought to life with expressive motions and interactive behaviors using custom authoring tools.
