G. Ogden Nutting, Former Pirates Investor and Publisher, Passes Away at 87
G. Ogden Nutting, former investor in the Pittsburgh Pirates and longtime publisher of Ogden Newspapers Inc., has passed away at the age of 87. Nutting's investment in the Pirates eventually led to his son, Bob Nutting, taking control of the team. Nutting was recognized for his contributions to the newspaper industry and received several awards for his service to West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and five granddaughters. No public service will be held.
