Backers Will Choose Double Fine's Next Game in Amnesia Fortnight 2026

Double Fine launches Amnesia Fortnight 2026, a livestreamed game jam in which Kickstarter backers vote on which of the studio's ideas become four prototypes and, ultimately, which one becomes a small final game; 2 Player Productions will film the process for a new documentary as the studio pursues its post-independence direction after layoffs earlier in the year.

Mega Crit, the developers of Slay the Spire, have released a new game called Dancing Duelists after switching from Unity to Godot Engine. Created for the Jump Ship Jam, Dancing Duelists is a deckbuilding autobattler dance off with a BUMPIN' soundtrack. The game was developed in just a few weeks and is available for free on itch.io. Mega Crit encourages players to check it out and suggests funding Godot instead of paying for the game.

"Surprise! Bugsnax and Octodad Dev Drops 4 Free Games on Steam"

Young Horses, the developer behind Bugsnax, has released four free games on Steam as part of its Free Range initiative. The games, which were mostly developed as side projects and at game jam events, include Antbassador, IndependANT, Snakedate, and Octodad: Student Edition. While Octodad: Dadliest Catch is available on the Switch, these four games are currently PC exclusives.
