Second collapse of Rs 1,710-crore bridge in Bihar raises concerns.
The under-construction Sultanganj-Aguani Ghat bridge across the Ganga in Bihar collapsed for the second time in 14 months, with at least 30 slabs of several pillars collapsing. The estimated cost of the bridge is Rs 1,710 crore. CM Nitish Kumar has ordered an investigation and asked for stern action against those responsible. The completion of the bridge, which was already delayed by over three years, could be set back by a couple of years due to the latest accident. The bridge would be the sixth on the Ganga to connect northern Bihar with its south.
