Tesla quietly pushes firmware refresh to Gen 2 Mobile Connectors
Tesla is quietly rolling out a firmware update for Gen 2 Mobile Connectors, delivered over the car’s internet connection when plugged in with no reboot or manual install prompts; release notes aren’t public and it’s unclear whether Gen 3 with PowerShare will get the update. The Mobile Connector is a portable trickle charger, drawing 12A on 120V or up to 32A on 240V, while Wall Connectors offer faster home charging. Updates for the Mobile Connector are rare but have previously addressed thermal management, protocol changes, or charging interruptions.
