Lanterns Episode 3 Bets on DNA Destiny, But Fails to Explain John Stewart's Power
Episode 3 deepens John Stewart's backstory via the Guardians' hint that his genetic makeup makes him worthy of the Green Lantern mantle, but the review argues this DNA-based explanation is a tired trope that doesn't truly explain why John is so powerful. It contrasts with Spider-Verse's idea that anyone can wear the mask and notes that while John shows potential, the show has not provided a satisfying reason beyond fate or genetics, leaving room for a deeper exploration of his power in future DCU installments.
