Former Disney Star Erik von Detten Sued for Elder Abuse Over $2.1M Gold Coin Fraud
Former Disney child star Erik von Detten and his former employer, Rosland Capital, are facing a lawsuit from an elderly couple alleging financial elder abuse and fraud. Sheila and Norman Greenberg claim von Detten convinced them to invest over $2.1 million of their retirement savings into gold coins that were worth only $1.3 million, resulting in a loss of $900,000. The lawsuit, filed in May 2026 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, accuses von Detten and Rosland of exploiting the couple's vulnerability and lack of financial knowledge. Rosland Capital has since filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and a case management conference is scheduled for November 9, 2026.
