"Dead nun's uncorrupted body draws crowds to Missouri town"

Thousands of Catholics from all over the country have made a pilgrimage to a convent in Gower, Missouri, to see the body of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster, who appears to have not decayed despite being buried for four years. Lancaster founded the convent in Gower, and her body was found to be nearly uncorrupted when some people tried to move her casket. Visitors say the trip to see Lancaster's body opened their eyes to new possibilities and strengthened their faith. Her body is planned to be on display through the morning of Monday, May 29.

Nun's incorrupt body draws nationwide attention to Missouri abbey.

The exhumed body of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster, who founded the Benedictine Sisters of Mary, Queen of the Apostles, showed no signs of decomposition four years after her burial, sparking "miracle" claims. The well-preserved body has attracted hundreds of pilgrims to the small town of Gower, Missouri. The Roman Catholic Church has documented several hundred cases of incorruptible bodies over the centuries, but it does not necessarily make a person a candidate for sainthood. Lancaster's body will remain on display at the chapel in Gower until May 29, after which it will be placed in a glass case for protection.
