Granada Theater and Sundown to Close in Dallas as Owners Sell Venue to Wellness Concept
The Granada Theater and its adjacent restaurant, Sundown at Granada, are closing after decades of operation in Dallas. Owners Mike Schoder and Julia Garton confirmed the sale of both properties, with Sundown ceasing regular service on Nov. 1, 2026, and the theater hosting its final concert on April 17, 2027. The venue, which hosted over 3,000 events since 2004, will be replaced by a wellness concept called Bathhouse, slated to open in late 2028. The closure follows 22 years of ownership by Schoder and Garton, who cited rising costs, industry shifts, and personal reasons for the decision.
