Guilfoyle Resigns as Greece Ambassador After Donor Payment Allegations
Kimberly Guilfoyle resigned as U.S. ambassador to Greece on October 13, 2026, after President Donald Trump requested her departure amid reports of financial misconduct. New press secretary Katie Zacharia announced the move during her first briefing, stating the White House had asked Guilfoyle to resign. Guilfoyle, who served in the role since September 2025, denied allegations that she solicited $100,000 from a donor to cover credit card debt and vowed to defend her reputation. The ouster followed a series of damaging reports by The Wall Street Journal regarding her conduct, including requests for money and acceptance of lavish gifts.
