"Long-Term Sexual Assault: New Jersey Gym Teacher Accused of Abusing Student for 4 Years"
A New Jersey gym teacher, Lydia Pinto, has been charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and two counts of second-degree sexual assault after a former student came forward with details of their four-year sexual relationship. The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation following an anonymous email, and Pinto was subsequently arrested and released pending her next court date. The victim reported that the relationship began when they were 14-15 years old and continued until their senior year of high school. Pinto coached girls' lacrosse and field hockey and taught driver's education classes at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
