
Mass Recall: 1.5 Million OCOOPA Hand Warmers Pulled Over Fire Hazard
A recall has been issued for about 1.5 million OCOOPA Rechargeable Hand Warmers after reports that their lithium‑ion batteries can overheat and ignite, causing fires, burns, and the February 2026 death of an 83‑year‑old in San Diego. Models UT3053, UT3056, ZLS-118, ZLS-118S, ZLS-118D, H01, and H01 (PD) were sold online on Amazon, OCOOPA.com, Walmart.com, and OCOOPA.net from Sept 2018 through May 2026 for $15–$60. Consumers should stop using the recalled units immediately and contact OCOOPA Direct for a refund (gift card or original payment). The manufacturer provides instructions to mark the device as recalled and to submit model and batch numbers for the refund, plus proper disposal guidance under local hazardous waste rules. The recall notes 1,480 overheating reports, 350 burn injuries, 15 fires, and the San Diego death.
