Sony Patents Temperature-Shifting Controller for PS5
Sony has filed a patent for a controller that can change temperature based on player actions and gameplay situations. The patent describes a soft, elastically deformable sensor component that can detect when the player deforms the controller and a temperature control apparatus that can make the accessory hotter or colder. The patent also mentions the use of magnetic fluid and electric or magnetic fields to change the shape and hardness of the soft parts of the controller. While these features are far from being included in a consumer product, they could offer players a range of immersive new control options if implemented in a future PlayStation pad.
