Dem Internal Poll Shows Jolly Narrowly Ahead of Donalds in Florida Race
An internal Democratic Governors Association poll conducted Aug. 10–13 by Hart Research Associates finds Democrat David Jolly leading Republican Byron Donalds by 1 point (46% to 45%) in a Florida-leaning sample (R+12). The survey casts Jolly as having broader appeal to independents and Hispanics, while Donalds is seen unfavorably by more voters. It notes potential crossover voting from Republicans (about 18%), a spending edge for Donalds, and suggests a tougher, more ambiguous race than public polls that show Donalds ahead.
