Martin Short’s daughter Katherine Hartley Short, adopted by the comedian and Nancy Dolman, died by suicide in February at age 42. The Los Angeles County medical examiner ruled the death a gunshot wound to the head, listing the case under her legal name Katherine Hartley. She had changed her last name to Hartley in 2013 to protect her privacy as a Los Angeles social worker; a note was found at the scene.
