Polanco Headed to 10-Day IL as Mets Promote Senger
The New York Mets placed infielder Jorge Polanco on the 10-day injured list retroactive to April 15 due to a right wrist contusion as he continues to deal with Achilles soreness; catcher Hayden Senger was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to join the roster. Polanco has struggled to produce this season (.179/.246/.286 in 61 plate appearances) and has mostly played DH because of the Achilles issue, and the IL move provides a chance for rest and a reset amid the Mets’ offensive slump.
