Philly unveils privately funded arena set for 2030 at Spectrum site
Philadelphia will build a new, fully privately funded arena at the former Spectrum site in South Philadelphia, opening in 2030 for the 76ers, Flyers and a future WNBA team. The project is expected to create about 15,000 jobs and generate roughly $6 billion in economic activity over the next decade, with tax revenue benefiting the School District and city; groundbreaking could begin in early 2027 pending city approvals.
