Healthcare Workers Face Unprecedented Burnout and Harassment Crisis, CDC Reports

Health worker burnout has reached crisis levels due to workplace harassment, punishing schedules, and high levels of stress, according to a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The report reveals that the number of health workers reporting harassment has more than doubled since 2018, leading to poor mental health. Among those who reported harassment, 85% are anxious, 60% are depressed, and 81% are burned out. The CDC emphasizes the need for long-term systemic fixes, including modifying working conditions and increasing supervisor support, to improve mental health and decrease burnout in the healthcare industry.
