"US Military Successfully Captures ISIS Official in Daring Syria Helicopter Raid"
The US military captured an ISIS official, Abu Halil al-Fad'ani, in a helicopter raid in northern Syria. No civilians were harmed during the operation. The capture of al-Fad'ani, an ISIS Syria Operational and Facilitation official, enhances the ability to locate, target, and remove terrorists from the battlefield. In August, CENTCOM forces and coalition partners detained seven ISIS operatives and killed one in Syria, while in Iraq, 18 operatives were detained and six were killed. The US has approximately 900 troops in Syria as part of the ongoing mission to defeat ISIS.
