Purple Highway: Minnesota Renames Stretch of Hwy. 5 in Honor of Prince
A stretch of Highway 5 in Minnesota has been officially named after the late musician Prince, who was born and raised in the state. The highway, which runs through the city of Chanhassen where Prince's Paisley Park estate is located, will now be known as "Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway." The tribute was approved by the state legislature in 2019 and was officially unveiled on Wednesday, marking what would have been Prince's 63rd birthday.
