Apple's Foldable iPhone Ultra Nears July Mass Production Amid Hinge Challenges
Apple's first foldable iPhone, rumored to be called the iPhone Ultra, is expected to enter mass production by late July with a September launch still on track. The device is said to feature a 7.8-inch inner OLED panel from Samsung and a 5.5-inch cover display, run on an A20 chip with a C2 modem, and use a Touch ID power button with two rear cameras. Hinges from Shin Zu Shing and Amphenol reportedly faced durability and manufacturing-tolerance challenges during testing, but officials say these issues have largely been addressed; the price is rumored around $2,000.
