Michkov shines in Flyers' first camp scrimmage as power play struggles
The Philadelphia Flyers held their first 2026-27 training camp scrimmage on September 19 in Voorhees, New Jersey, where Team Orange defeated Team Black 4-3. Matvei Michkov emerged as a standout performer, displaying strong puck possession and passing ability alongside linemates Alex Bump and Denver Barkey. While the physical nature of the game drew attention, including minor scuffles, no players were injured. Trevor Zegras also impressed with a breakaway goal, but the team's power play units showed significant rust and require further development before the regular season.
