Yemeni forces seize key district as Houthi clashes widen along Taiz-Hodeidah fronts
Yemeni government forces say they recaptured Hais district south of Hodeidah and are pressing attacks across Taiz and Hodeidah in a renewed round of heavy fighting with Houthi rebels, backed by airstrikes and drones. The clashes have killed more than 60 people in Taiz and displaced about 1,800 families in two days, according to UN figures, with the government warning that Taiz will not serve as a corridor for the Houthis and pledging to restore full control while deterring any move toward Bab al-Mandeb.
