Hollies Close Touring Chapter as Last 60s Veterans Retire
The Hollies have officially quit touring after Tony Hicks (80) and Bobby Elliott (84)—the last two members of the band’s classic 1960s lineup—retired due to health reasons, ending a 63-year touring era. Formed in 1962 and powered by Hicks and Elliott since 1963, the group achieved Rock Hall of Fame status in 2010. A later lineup continues in oldies tours, but Hicks and Elliott’s departure marks the end of an era for live Hollies performances.
