Wheeler Responds to Acuña's Trots with Subtle Jab in Phillies-Braves Clash
Zack Wheeler limited Ronald Acuña Jr. to a single and a homer, then struck him out in the fifth as the Phillies beat the Braves 4-2 at Citizens Bank Park. Acuña's longer-than-usual home run trot drew boos from the crowd, and Wheeler quipped that Acuña can celebrate as he wishes while noting their long-standing rivalry. Wheeler's six-inning effort helped Philadelphia stay in the NL East race, with Kyle Schwarber adding a later homer to seal the win.
