Harvard awarded six honorary degrees during its Commencement ceremony, including to Jennifer Doudna for her pioneering work on CRISPR-Cas9, Tom Hanks for his contributions to film and philanthropy, Katalin Karikó for her research on messenger RNA, David Levering Lewis for his expertise in history and biography, Hugo Morales for his work in public broadcasting, and Michael Mullen for his leadership in the military.
