Washington State Senate Passes Bill Banning Assault Weapons
The Washington State Senate passed House Bill 1240, which would ban the sale, manufacture, and distribution of over 50 assault weapon gun models. The bill will go back to the House for amendments before reaching Governor Jay Inslee's desk. The ban does not include the possession of assault weapons. Attorney General Bob Ferguson proposed the ban in 2017 after a mass shooting in Mukilteo.
