"Arrests Made in Connection to 2019 Protester Relief Fund in Hong Kong"
Ten individuals linked to a defunct fund established to aid Hong Kong protesters during the 2019 anti-extradition bill unrest have been arrested by national security police. The arrests were made on suspicion of conspiring to collude with a foreign country or external elements to endanger national security and inciting a riot. The individuals are accused of accepting donations from foreign organizations and providing financial assistance to groups supporting overseas fugitives or advocating for sanctions on Hong Kong. Further arrests have not been ruled out. This is not the first time individuals associated with the relief fund have been apprehended, as five former trustees were previously arrested and fined for failing to register the fund as a society.
