Kabuki Star Ichikawa Ennosuke Arrested for Assisting Parents' Double Suicide
Japanese Kabuki actor Ichikawa Ennosuke has been indicted for allegedly assisting in his parents' suicides by giving them an excessive amount of sleeping drugs. The indictment comes after a magazine exposé accused Ichikawa of sexually harassing female cast members, leading to a family meeting where they decided to say goodbye. Ichikawa, who has a long and distinguished lineage in Kabuki, has denied the allegations. His cousin, veteran actor Kagawa Teruyuki, also faced similar allegations last year. Shochiku, the leading operator of Kabuki theaters, stated that no acts of harassment were reported at any of their venues.
