Unveiling the Secrets of Tupac's Iconic Photoshoot
French-Algerian photographer Michel Haddi has released a monograph dedicated to the late rapper Tupac Shakur, titled "Tupac: The Legend." The book features Haddi's portrait session with Tupac, originally commissioned for hip hop magazine "The Source." Haddi aimed to portray Tupac as Martin Luther King Jr., and the shoot took place near Haddi's home in Venice Beach. The book also includes quotes from Tupac and additional images of his former home. Haddi's negatives from the shoot were stolen, but he recently found some original prints. The book offers a glimpse into the character of Tupac as an artist and legend.
