Nationwide Crackdown on Illegal Robocalls and Telemarketing Scams Intensifies
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and over 100 federal and state law enforcement partners have launched "Operation Stop Scam Calls," targeting illegal telemarketing calls in the United States. The initiative aims to crack down on telemarketers, lead generators, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service providers involved in illegal robocalls. The FTC has brought a total of 167 cases against illegal robocallers and collected over $394 million in penalties. As part of the operation, the FTC has filed complaints against Fluent, LLC; Viceroy Media Solutions, LLC; Yodel Technologies, LLC; Solar Xchange LLC; and Hello Hello Miami, LLC, seeking penalties and injunctions to prevent further illegal telemarketing activities.
