Impaired driver crashes into Maryland state trooper on I-495.
A Maryland state trooper monitoring construction work on I-495 in Montgomery County was injured after an allegedly impaired driver, identified as Anthony Bowser, struck his vehicle from behind. The trooper and Bowser were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Partial closures on the Beltway Inner Loop caused major delays near Silver Spring, but all lanes have since reopened. Charges are pending for Bowser, who police suspect was operating the SUV while impaired.
