Arizona man restrained mid-flight after outburst prompts Baltimore diversion
An Arizona man, 67-year-old Arthur Lundeen, on an American Airlines flight from Dallas–Fort Worth to Newark became belligerent and allegedly assaulted a neighboring passenger. Passengers and a former law enforcement officer restrained him with zip ties and duct tape, and the crew diverted the plane to Baltimore. Lundeen was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree assault; the FBI is investigating. American Airlines said it does not tolerate violence and praised its crew.
