International Law Enforcement Seizes Hacker Group's Infrastructure
The FBI and British authorities, in collaboration with international partners, have seized servers and disrupted the infrastructure of the LockBit ransomware group, obtaining access to nearly 1,000 decryption keys and unsealing indictments against two Russian nationals. This operation is part of a series of FBI efforts to disrupt cybercrime and cyberespionage infrastructure globally, targeting the world's most widely used ransomware variant, LockBit, which has resulted in over $144 million in ransomware payments and targeted at least 2,000 businesses worldwide. The U.S. government has imposed sanctions and offered rewards for information leading to the identification or location of LockBit leaders and participants.
