Colorado Supreme Court blocks Democrats' bid to redraw Congress map
Colorado's Supreme Court on Monday blocked three ballot measures that would pause the state's independent redistricting process and redraw its congressional map to favor Democrats, ruling the package violated the single-subject rule. If approved, the changes would have produced maps for 2028 and 2030 that could have boosted Democratic seats to seven of eight, but the measures were struck down in two unanimous decisions. Republicans had backed the efforts and have since floated alternative measures to keep mapmaking in check; for now, Colorado's current redistricting system remains in place ahead of the 2026 elections.
