Instagram rolls out Instants, a disappearing-photo experience across main and standalone apps
Meta’s Instagram launches Instants—a disappearing-photo feature (and a dedicated app) that lets you snap and share photos that vanish after view, can be archived for up to a year, and later be compiled into recap stories. In the main app, Instants appear in DMs with minimal editing (no camera-roll uploads or filters) and an undo option; a standalone Instants app is being tested in some countries. The feature includes safety tools and teen supervision, and is part of Instagram’s push to rival Snapchat and BeReal.
