Mercedes-AMG has collaborated with musician Will.i.am to create MBUX Sound Drive, an "interactive musical experience" for its cars that links music to driving using sensors and software. The feature, available in mid-2024 for Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Benz vehicles with the second generation of the MBUX system, allows drivers to pair musical tracks with driving functions like recuperation, acceleration, steering, and braking, creating an "orchestra" within the car. The company envisions various driving scenarios matched with appropriate music, and plans to open the platform for musicians worldwide to create their own driving soundscapes.
