Gasly’s Monaco penalties restored by ICA, podium reshuffle confirmed

The International Court of Appeal reinstated Pierre Gasly’s two five-second Monaco pitlane penalties, moving him from P3 to P7 and giving Isack Hadjar the podium; the decision held that retroactively changing the common calibration distance after teams had prepared was unfair, upholding the original timing measurement and requiring Alpine and FIA to cover the other teams’ legal costs. Gasly also loses nine points as a result of the reinstated penalties.

Monaco GP podium reshuffled as ICA reinstates penalties

The Monaco Grand Prix result was altered after McLaren and Red Bull’s appeals: Gasly’s two five-second penalties for pit-lane speeding were reinstated, dropping him from the podium to 7th, while Isack Hadjar reclaimed his original podium, Oscar Piastri moved up to 4th, and Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad finished 5th and 6th. Alpine expressed disappointment, and the FIA announced it will review the Formula 1 timing system and related procedures, as well as the appeal process, with further consideration of judicial practices.
